SF Fashion Week is wrapping up tomorrow. Wait. San Francisco has a fashion week? Sure does my friends. it sure does. It's like regs NYFW but not at all and totally San Francisco-esque. Rather than a see-and-be-seen week with Karl Lagerfields popping up around every corner because there is more than one, obvi, it's indi, it's small and features emerging designers and students.
This year there was a heavy focus on fashion and technology my one, err two true loves and a series of events around that, in addition to runway shows, trunk shows, etc. I was super fortunate enough to speak on the panel at Wednesday's "Fashion Bloggers Connect" with a few other fab ladies--Mira Torres, Alison Messinger & Molly Covert.
We talked about everything under the sun when it comes to blogging; sources of inspiration, creating content, photography (or not in my case) and answered lots of questions about how to get started. My fav part was giving advice to those just starting out with their own blog and also encouraging the gals who are scared, to take the plunge and do it!It brought me back to my blog beginning days; 3 years ago when I was fresh out of college, new to San Francisco and had nothing but a giant new city and a macbook at my disposal. I didn't think anyone would read it, in fact I don't think I even told anyone ElizaLouiseSF existed, I just did it. And little by little, I would tell someone here and there, push my posts to Facebook and then one day someone I met someone for the first time who said they loved my blog. That was special. There might never be loads of people who read this. But that doesn't matter, even just one person who acknowledges that they take pleasure in reading ElizaLouiseSF is reason enough for me :)
